What you need
- macOS
- 11 or later
- Formats
- Audio Unit and VST3
- Hosts
- Any host that loads Audio Units or VST3. Logic Pro loads Audio Units.

Installing
- Quit your host.
- Open the installer for the plug-in and follow it.
- Open your host. The plug-in is in its list of Audio Units or VST3 plug-ins.
Where each step lives in Logic Pro, and how to route a sidechain, is in Getting started.
Check it yourself
Do not take our word for it.
Apple ships a command-line validator for Audio Units. Run it on an installed plug-in and it loads the plug-in the way a host does and reports what it finds.

Short answers.
Do I need an account?
No account is needed to use a plug-in.
Which hosts do they work in?
They are built as Audio Units and as VST3. Each Audio Unit passes Apple’s auval validation and loads in a test host. The VST3 versions are built from the same code; only the Audio Units have been through a validator and a test host so far.
Are the numbers on the site real?
Every figure comes from the plug-in’s own tests, run on synthetic signals. They say what the code does to a test signal. They do not say how a plug-in will sound on your session, and nothing here claims they do.
Can I try a premium plug-in first?
Yes, when they are out. Each premium plug-in works for 14 days from the first time you open its window, or after five minutes of audio, whichever comes first. The key marked LICENCE in its top bar shows how many days are left. The free plug-ins have no trial and no licence.
Does a licence need an account or a connection?
No. A licence is a signed file that the plug-in checks on your own Mac. There is no account, no activation server and no connection.
What happens when the trial is over?
The plug-in passes your audio through unchanged, delayed by the delay it reports so that tracks stay in time, and its own processing is switched off until you add a licence. Nothing saved in your session is changed.
When are the premium ones out?
Available from next week, for sale and as 14-day trials. Write to mark@paragondesign.co.nz and we will tell you the day they are.
Does a plug-in change my audio when I am not using it?
That depends on the plug-in, and each manual says. GAUGE leaves the mix bit for bit until its reference or mono check is switched on; with every section at rest, VENEER is the input delayed by its reported latency and nothing else.
