Privacy

The short version

You can read this site, and download the free plug-ins, without telling us anything. The site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers. We learn who you are only if you buy a premium plug-in or write to us.

What we collect

When you buy, you give Stripe your email address, your name, your billing details and your payment details on its checkout page. In our Stripe account we can see your email address, your name, your billing details, what you bought, and the time and amount of the payment. We never see your card number. When you write to us, we keep your message and your email address.

What we use it for

• To take payment and to deliver your downloads.
• To make your licence, which carries your email address and an order code.
• To email you the link to your downloads, and a new link if you ask for one.
• To answer you when you write to us, and to deal with refunds and disputes.
• To keep the financial records the law asks for. In New Zealand business records are kept for seven years.

Where it is kept

We keep no customer database. The record of your order is held by Stripe, which is our payment processor, and we read it from Stripe when you open your downloads. We do not keep a copy of it on this site.

This site is hosted on Vercel, and the installers are stored with Vercel Blob. Our order emails are sent through Resend. Each of these companies handles the data it needs to do its job, and our host keeps technical logs, which include IP addresses, for a short time. Our own logs hide email addresses and links, and the site’s limit on repeated requests uses the IP address only briefly, in memory.

Stripe, Vercel and Resend operate in other countries, including the United States, so information about a purchase can be handled outside New Zealand.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it with Stripe to take payment, with Resend to send order emails, with Vercel to run the site, with our accountant and the tax authorities where our financial records need it, and where the law requires it.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies. Stripe’s checkout page belongs to Stripe and sets the cookies it needs to take payment; Stripe’s own privacy policy describes them.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete what we are allowed to delete, by writing to mark@paragondesign.co.nz. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in New Zealand (privacy.org.nz).
