Terms of sale
What buying a plug-in from Paragon Workshop means, in plain words.
Who we are
These terms are between you and Paragon Design, New Zealand, which runs Paragon Workshop. You can write to us at mark@paragondesign.co.nz.
What you are buying
You are buying a licence to use a plug-in, on the terms of the licence. You are not buying the software itself or its source code. The free plug-ins are not sold: they can be downloaded and used at no cost, on the terms of the same licence.
Prices and payment
Prices are in USD and are shown on the buy page and again at checkout. Payment is taken by Stripe on its own page. We do not see or keep your card details.
The total shown at checkout, before you pay, is the amount you pay, and it includes any tax we charge. If a promotion code applies, the price you see at checkout, after the code, is the price you pay.
Delivery
When Stripe confirms your payment, the downloads and your licences appear on the page you are sent back to. A link to the same page is emailed to the address you gave at checkout, and it works for 30 days. You can ask for a new link at any time from Recover your downloads.
If a plug-in’s installer is not out yet when you buy, your licence is made now and the download appears on the same page when it is released.
Refunds
You can ask for a refund within 30 days of buying. The refund policy says how.
Updates
Free updates within the same major version. A major version is the first number of a plug-in’s version, and a new one may be offered as a paid upgrade.
Support
Write to mark@paragondesign.co.nz. We read every message and reply as soon as we can. The plug-ins are built for macOS 11 or later, as Audio Units and VST3, and we can help with hosts that load those formats.
Your legal rights
Nothing in these terms takes away a right you have under the law that protects consumers where you live. In New Zealand that includes the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986, where they apply to your purchase.
Limits on what we are liable for
We make the plug-ins with care, and each plug-in’s page and manual say plainly what has been checked and what has not. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost work, lost sessions or lost income, and our liability to you for any one plug-in is limited to the price you paid for it. Nothing here limits a liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. A change applies to purchases made after we publish it, and the date at the foot of this page says when it was last changed. A change never shortens the refund period of a purchase you have already made.
Governing law
The laws of New Zealand apply to these terms, and the courts of New Zealand can settle a dispute under them. If you live in another country and its law gives you the right to bring a claim there, these terms do not take that right away.
