About Paragon Design

I started this journey over 25 years ago, fuelled by a simple curiosity: how do websites actually work? That question led me to teach myself the basics of web development, and before long, I was helping local Kiwi businesses establish their online presence, back when dial-up internet was still the norm.

Since then, I've had the privilege of building and managing websites for hundreds of businesses across New Zealand. I remember when WordPress first appeared, a blogging platform that I quickly saw the potential in. Even before it was a fully-fledged CMS, I was customising it to give my clients exactly what they needed: an easy, flexible way to edit their own content. That kind of forward-thinking approach still drives me today.

That same instinct is what's pulled me into custom apps and AI-powered tools over the past couple of years, alongside the web design work. I've built and now run software with a real-time backend, an AI assistant that turns a photo into structured data automatically, and an image pipeline that produces publish-ready visuals in seconds. It's the same thing that got me into WordPress early on: find where the technology is genuinely useful, then build the thing that removes the busywork.

This isn't just a job, it's something I genuinely love. I get excited by what's possible when great design, clear messaging, and clever technology come together.

What sets me apart? Experience, for one. After 25 years in the industry, there's not much I haven't encountered, in web design or, more recently, in building software. But beyond that, I work fast and smart, quickly getting to the heart of what a client really needs, even if they're not sure themselves yet. I take pride in delivering high-quality, practical solutions without unnecessary fluff, whether that's a website or a custom tool.
